There are just under 14 days left in 2014!
14 DAYS! And I have 13 books left to read before the end of the year to meet my goal of 109 books read in 2014. And considering that I got behind during many months, I'm in crunch time to make quota. That's technically a book a day from here on out ... or a massive read-a-thon. This is a pretty typical picture above of my nightstand of a given day:
And in this case two battery operated candles that I have been too lazy to replace the batteries in so they actually work ... so they are decoration. PLUS bobby pins, hair ties, lotion, and dust. Back to the point. 14 days - 13 books. Here's what's on the agenda:
I like to plan, but when it comes to books, sometimes something else takes my attention. And with over 500 books that I own that I have never read, the options are endless and most likely something on this list will change at a moments notice. So ... what are you reading that I should be reading?

A couple years ago I picked up an awesome book called "The Happiness Project" by Gretchen Rubin, and fell in love with the great and pretty simple ways she walks you through how to have a happier life that will work out perfectly for you.
I tried to create my own happiness project, but then I fell behind. Then not long after, Rubin released "Happier at Home" and it became my new favorite book. At that time I was trying to find a more homey feel at my previous house. Who knew that pretty quick after that I would just decide to build Dream Home #1? SO ... while I patiently wait for her third book to be released, I read her daily emails and revisit the concepts she has walked us through in her books. Last week I came across one of her older blog posts - "To Be Happier, Write Your Own Set of Personal Commandments". This idea ties in perfectly with YEAR OF 30 and creating the best year of my life. I'm still working on some areas of my life but I'm hoping this quick list will be a daily reminder of the person I want to be. In no particular order (and some borrowed from other commandment writers), my personal commandments:
